P90X: Day 11 (Minus 1)

Time for an update... I'm now in my eleventh day of the P90X program (though I still have to do the Yoga X workout today, probably tonight after I get out of work and a late doctor's appointment).
Largely, so far, I've been successful in keeping to the diet program as well as the workouts, with only a couple of hiccups here and there; Sunday, in particular, threw me off, as I was at the beach with friends most of the day, so my diet was not even close to being spot-on, plus I missed the workout. Fortunately I got back on the truck yesterday and I'm simply treating Sunday as a "break" day.
Since P90X is a 90-day program (and I still have 79 of those days to go), I have no doubt that I will have more misses, though I hope they're rare and scattered. I will say, though, that I was surprisingly disappointed about having missed Sunday's workout, and I felt almost a palpable sense of relief on Monday night after completing the day's routine. I wasn't expecting that, since I'm generally fairly poor about establishing new habits, especially daily ones. But it was there, and I was pleased to encounter it.
As for the actual workouts themselves... well, in a word? They're hard. There's not been a day so far that I haven't come to the end of any given DVD without being utterly drenched in sweat and exhausted. The days that some part of my body has been sore have outnumbered the days that I've felt normal. Certain workouts, too--in particular the Ab Ripper X routine, and parts of Yoga X--I have yet to complete every rep of every exercise. That's not to say that I haven't been trying, because I have been, mightily so--almost to the point that I worry that my form could be so bad that I might be priming myself for inadvertent injury.
So while full, total, 100% completion of certain workouts is still eluding me, I can definitely tell you with absolute certainty that I have indeed improved, even in just the week and a half I've been going. Now that I've repeated a couple of the DVDs at least once, it's clear to me that I have inched forward in my flexibility and strength, though that may be largely attributed to simply becoming more accustomed to the exercises as they are presented.
78 days left... it really sounds daunting, but that's October 12. And October really doesn't feel all that far off... given that July is nearly gone.
